On fake-bird hairpieces and the words that describe them




Thanks to Kraftomatic, I've learned some excellent words. One of them is fascinator. From what I can tell, it's a glorified headband.

Look, here's one now.

The seller has a strange name for it (see below), but don't let that confuse you. In the trade we call this a fascinator. Editor's note: that does not mean it fascinates. Necessarily.
